Why is founding member Ned Fulmer no longer working with The Try Guys?

Ned Fulmer has admitted to having a “consensual workplace relationship” which has led to his exit from The Try Guys.

Ned Fulmer, of the beloved YouTube channel, The Try Guys has left the group after allegations that he had a relationship with a subordinate were confirmed. The investigation into the relationship began after videos of Ned and what appears to be Try Guys producer Alexandra Herring were posted to Reddit.

The remaining members of the team have shared the official statement but none have made public comments as to their reaction to the news.

Ned’s sudden disappearance was noticed by fans

Fans had noticed that Ned had been notably absent from the videos for the past few weeks, leading to greater speculation when videos of Ned and a woman who was not his wife kissing and dancing in a club in New York City.

The controversy goes beyond marital infidelity, being that Ned was the boss of the worker with whom he had the affair - meaning there was a considerable power dynamic between the two.

How did Ned and Alex meet?

Alexandra Herring, commonly known to fans as Alex, met the Try Guys while working at Buzzfeed. Herring opted to leave the media agency and join the new YouTube channel as a producer and later as a ‘Food Babies.’

Online sleuths believe that the affair has hurt the Alex’s relationship as well as Ned’s.

Will Thayer, the fiancé of Herring has deleted all pictures of the two of them together and unfollowed both Alex and Ned on social media. His account is now private while Herring’s is still public with all photos still uploaded. The couple had been together for over ten years, which also happens to be the number of years Ned and Ariel have been married.

Ned and Ariel Fulmer release their own statements

It was pizza night in the Fulmer household when both Ned and Ariel posted statements to their social media accounts responding to the news that Ned would be leaving The Try Guys.

Much of Ned’s brand both during his time at Buzzfeed and with The Try Guys has been centered around how much he loves his wife, so the news came as a shock to many fans.

Based on Ned and Ariel’s statements it seems that both will be taking time away from the spotlight to mend their relationship.

Ariel, who has been featured in many Try Guys productions, and was a co-star of the channel’s podcast You Can’t Sit With Us, has received unwavering support from fans. In her own statement she asked the public for privacy as the couple works on their relationship and cares for their two young children -- Wesley and Finn.
