Self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have reportedly been arrested and taken into custody by Romanian authorities.

Controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been arrested by authorities at their villa residence in Romania and taken into custody, according to reports by Romanian media.

The news outlet Libertatea initially reported that Romanian police carried out the raid in connection with the kidnapping of two girls. The two British men have been detained for 24 hours, and are being investigated on rape and human trafficking allegations.

The former kickboxer and self-proclaimed misogynist is being investigated by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism in relation to suspicions that he and his brother were creating a crime group involved in using girls for adult videos.

Tate’s arrest comes a day after being roasted by teen activist Greta Thunberg, and his attempt to hit back at her may have led police to his home. He uploaded a video rant on Twitter, and there was a pizza box from a local chain visible in the foreground which indicated to the authorities that he was in the country.
