Will grocery stores be open on Halloween 2024? Business hours for Walmart, Costco, Target...
Trick or treaters rejoice, for spooky season is upon us! Halloween is not a federal holiday meaning most shops and businesses will remain open throughout.
For fans of the ghoulish and the ghostly, Halloween is a major day in the calendar and the date that kick-starts the holiday season. It’s the second-biggest commercial holiday after Christmas Day, with Americans expected to spend $11.6 billion on costumes, candies, and parties this year according to retail group the National Retail Federation.
But unlike upcoming celebrations like Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day, Halloween is not a federal holiday. As such, most stores and places of business will be staying open on Thursday, 31 October.
Almost all businesses and essential services will be following their usual operating hours, so you have a chance to pick up any last-minute Halloween costumes and stock up on treat-or-treat goodies.
