Will Hurricane Kiko hit Hawaii next week? What experts are predicting about its path
Hurricane Kiko may impact Hawaii next week. NWS warns of possible high winds and rain; residents urged to monitor forecasts for updates.

As Hurricane Kiko moves east in the Pacific, officials in Hawaii are preparing residents for its possible impacts.
The National Weather Service’s (NWS) National Hurricane Center (NHC) models indicate that Hurricane Kiko, currently located around 1,300 miles from Honolulu, is on track to impact the Hawaiian Islands next week. With sustained winds of 125 mph, Kiko is a category 3 hurricane.
Kiko’s path towards Hawaii
“Kiko is forecast to approach the Hawaiian Islands during the early to middle portion of next week,” reported the NWS in the most recent update on the storm’s progress. The agency notes, however, that those in the area should stay tuned, as “it is too soon to determine the exact location or magnitude of these impacts.” Nevertheless, the government’s meteorologists are warning that direct impacts, including high winds and increased rainfall, are expected.
The NHC says it is impossible that Kiko will strengthen on Friday, but over the weekend, it should weaken as it continues its advance towards Hawaii.
