Will the One Direction members perform together in light of Liam Payne’s untimely death?
Fans across the globe are mourning the loss of Liam Payne, one of the founding members of One Direction.
The tragic death of Liam Payne in Buenos Aires has shocked many Directioners around the world. As of late on Wednesday night, Payne’s former bandmates, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik have yet to release a message. It is far too early to say what the former bandmates will do to celebrate Payne’s life and career.
The five young men met after each auditioned individually for ‘The X Factor’ in 2008 and were placed together in a group to continue moving through the competition. Together, they placed third, but they would become one of the most prolific music phenomena of the 2010s.
When was the last time the group performed together?
The five members have not performed together since 2015. One of the last performances took place at an event hosted by the BBC nine years ago.
In early 2015, Malik departed the band, with the remaining four members opting to release one final album, ‘Made in the A.M.’ The following year, the boys would announce that they would be taking their own paths and that the group would no longer be making music together. Nearly a decade has passed and though the former bandmates have interacted, they have never crossed over into each others individual careers.
