Winter storm in California for the weekend: In which areas it will snow and until when

Northern California is bracing for another winter storm this weekend as adverse winter weather continues across the country.

The bad weather continues in the United States. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast, low temperatures and severe weather will hit California over the weekend, causing snowfall and heavy rain in certain areas of the Golden State.

A new storm system hit California on Friday, 19 January, and will continue until at least Tuesday of next week. It is expected that by Wednesday, the 24th, the bad weather will begin to decrease.

In which areas will it snow and for how long?

The storm system will primarily hit Northern California, bringing moderate rain to most of the region. As the storm moves into mountainous areas, the rains will intensify. Snowfall will occur specificallyin the Sierra Nevada, in the Valley region.

For Saturday, rainfall of up to one inch is expected in Sacramento, Modesto and Stockton, while in Quincy, Redding and Red Bluff rain accumulations will reach up to 1.5 inches.

For Sunday, rainfall of up to 1.5 inches are expected, causing damage to the Valley region and the mountainous areas. Likewise, the authorities assure that this new storm system will be accompanied by strong gusts of wind that will reach up to 35 mph (miles per hour).

The rains will continue during Monday and Tuesday of next week , though by Wednesday the bad weather will begin to diminish, bringing with it clearer skies and an increase in temperatures.
