Battlefield 6: The triumphant return of all-out war!
The multiplayer is a tactical masterpiece, and the campaign far exceeds expectations. A contender for best FPS of 2025.
After the bittersweet Battlefield 2042, many of us doubted that the essence of the series could be recaptured. Fortunately, Battlefield 6, which will be released on October 10, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, has not only delivered on its promise but has far exceeded it. BF Studios has delivered one of the best shooters of 2025 and perhaps of this console generation. By this we mean that, without a doubt, the franchise is back.
Battlefield 6 Campaign
The game experience is divided into two modes: single-player campaign and multiplayer. The single-player campaign is excellent, packed with tactical action and varied situations that force you to master different mechanics, from using a sniper rifle to combat with vehicles. The cinematic intensity, with helicopters crashing and tanks arriving at just the right moment, guarantees a very entertaining time; this mode is a kind of “training” with a storyline.
Plot and the new enemy: Pax Armata
The narrative, although linear, is refreshing in that it strays from the usual clichés. The central conflict does not pit traditional superpowers against each other, but rather a coalition called Pax Armata that has destabilized NATO. In this game, we play as a squad of US Marines acting as the last line of defense.
The BF6 campaign immerses us in the perspectives of different heroes, revealing betrayals and testing the ethics of war. Although the story is nothing to write home about, the gameplay itself is enjoyable thanks to its constant changes of scenery and objectives.

Tactical gameplay in Campaign mode
Unlike the frenetic pace we see in the Call of Duty series, the Battlefield 6 campaign allows for a more tactical approach. You can use commands to coordinate your team, call in strikes, or request support to locate enemy soldiers. Flanking, using cover to peek out, and firing in bursts are key strategies, especially on higher difficulty levels.
Battlefield 6 multiplayer
The real gem of BF6 is its multiplayer mode, the pillar that made the series a benchmark. While Battlefield 2042 was disappointing, BF6 brings back the best of the series. It strikes a perfect balance between the classic simplicity of Battlefield and modern customization.
The class system is back. Each of the four classes has unique equipment and gadgets that you’ll need to master to maximize their impact. The key to success remains teamwork and strategy. You can’t go it alone here: coordination with your squad is essential to achieve victory in the all-out war modes.
Veterans will be delighted with the return of the traditional class system, which defines the role of each soldier on the battlefield:
- Assault: the front line. They are agile and ideal for close to medium-range combat. Their mission is to secure and clear areas.
- Engineer: the expert in vehicles and structures. They are responsible for repairing allied vehicles and destroying enemy structures and tanks with explosives.
- Support: the backbone of the squad. They are slower and have higher-caliber weapons. Their main role is to heal and revive troops.
- Reconnaissance: they provide field intelligence and eliminate long-range threats with their sniper rifle.

Maps and modes
The maps in Battlefield 6 are varied and dynamic, and destruction is central to the gameplay.
- Conquest: the classic mode of total war. It allows the use of all vehicles (ATVs, tanks, aircraft) and focuses on capturing and defending areas across a large map.
- Breakthrough: An intense mode in which one team defends positions and the other must progressively capture them, leading to massive, fortified frontal combat.
- King of the Hill: Smaller, faster modes without vehicles, focused on infantry combat.
The technology for destroying buildings and environments is fundamental to strategy. On maps such as Siege of Cairo, you can eliminate entire structures to dislodge campers and defenders, thereby redefining the battlefield in real time.
New mechanics
Gunplay is complemented by additions that enhance immersion and tactics:
- Dragging teammates: allows you to move fallen allies to a safe area before reviving them.
- Peeking around corners: an essential defensive mechanic to avoid being an easy target.
- Additional transport: the ability to carry extra soldiers in vehicles, even outside designated seats, adds tactical risk.
As you play, you unlock new weapons, attachments, and gadgets unique to each class and vehicle, encouraging deep customization of your soldier.

Is Battlefield 6 worth buying?
It is undoubtedly a strong contender for the best first-person shooter of 2025 and this console generation. The campaign is an explosion of well-choreographed action, and the multiplayer mode is the orchestrated chaos that fans have been waiting for: tanks, jets, helicopters, and constant revives combine in a symphony of total war.
It’s important to note that we weren’t able to test the level creation options before launch, but the core package is robust enough to guarantee hours of fun. Battlefield 6 is the glorious return of the series that, at least this year, has delivered the coup de grâce to Call of Duty.
