Two Point Museum: Zooseum - A zoo full of unexpected creatures

The new expansion turns your museum into a zoo full of quirky creatures in true Two Point style.

In the world of management video games, Two Point Studios has established itself as one of the most successful studios. With the experience gained from Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus, Two Point Museum has shown the interesting and funny side of museum management. Now, for its second downloadable content, and after bringing us into the world of Dungeons & Dragons in a very unique way, it’s time to open a new museum... Dedicated to animals? This is Zooseum.

Two Point Museum: Zooseum is the latest downloadable content coming to the game, adding management elements to the franchise. As the name suggests, our museums will now become—in part—zoos, with the characteristic touch that the series has accustomed us to. Of course, this is without neglecting the tasks of administering and managing a museum. Within the game, Silverbottom Park will become our new area to open the next museum, where we will find ourselves rescuing, rehabilitating, and even breeding these extraordinary animals. Because, of course, it wouldn’t be Two Point if we didn’t have a giraffe with a spring for a neck or a snail with a house for a shell.

A place for creatures, big and small

As an expansion, Zooseum comes with a new area where we can now have animal experts who can go out and research and bring back new species. Of course, a museum is not an ideal place for these animals to roam freely, so now we will have the option of creating both terrariums for smaller creatures and spaces for slightly larger animals. Just like in a zoo, these spaces must be prepared so that our species can be as comfortable as possible in captivity. From choosing the right type of biome and other species to live with, to decorating the larger habitats, we will have control over the design of these spaces.

Similarly, new elements are also being added to our museum. Before bringing in our new tenants, we will have to build a giant cube that serves to cure the species if they arrive with any diseases. Another machine will be responsible for generating the space to create our terrarium and provide a home for the smallest creatures. The management and care of these areas has one purpose: to maintain the well-being of both the spaces and the animals. If we do not properly meet their needs, their health will begin to decline.

In terms of content, we’ll get something similar to what we received with the previous DLC, Fantasy Finds. Zooseum adds more than 40 new exhibits, a new type of animal expert, as well as a new map that will send our researchers to the Farflung Isles. Of course, the game offers new items and decorations themed around these animals, as well as five different biomes where we can find and accommodate the species we discover. Although it may not sound like much, the content offers that extra incentive to return to the game, and at a price of around $11, it is justified as downloadable content.

Some of these tests were performed on both a PC and the ROG Xbox Ally X. On both platforms, performance remained fairly stable, with good quality in terms of performance. Something that caught my attention with the Asus “consolized” PC is how well the controls were adapted to both the sticks and the buttons, giving me an idea of what the experience is like on home consoles. However, there is no doubt that this is a game that is best enjoyed with a keyboard and mouse, making the experience and control handling even easier.

One of the details that stands out is the fact that you can’t jump straight into Silverbottom Park and start your adventure with these animals. If this is your first time playing Two Point Museum and you want to start with this expansion, you’ll first need to complete the first mission given to you by the game. This isn’t a bad thing, as it allows you to learn all the details about the management system, hiring staff, and the expedition system, but it can be a lengthy process if you’re only interested in the animals.

Two Point Museum: Zooseum expands the game’s formula in a fun and coherent way by transforming part of the museum into a zoo full of absurd creatures and new management dynamics. The additional content offers a good balance between novelty and continuity, with more than 40 new exhibits, a specialized expert type, and a new map for expeditions. Although it requires completing the initial mission before accessing the DLC, Zooseum stands out as a solid, well-thought-out addition that stays true to Two Point’s characteristic charm.
