Summer Escape in Fortnite: All the news about the Summer 2023 event

We share with you all the changes and new features of Summer Escape, the Fortnite Summer 2023 event. All the information.

The Fortnite Summer 2023 event is here and it’s called Summer Escape. In this quick guide, we’ll tell you what all the changes and new features of this event are. Let’s get started:

When does the Fortnite Summer Event start and how long does it last?

Fortnite’s summer event begins on Tuesday, July 4 at 9:00 am ET and ends on Tuesday, July 18 at 9:00 am ET. In other words, it lasts a total of two weeks. The start date and time is the same as the following in the United States:

  • 9:00 AM ET
  • 8:00 AM CT
  • 6:00 AM PT

New Summer Escape quests with free rewards

As in previous editions of this event, one of the great novelties is the new quests that will allow us to gain experience and free rewards such as picks, gestures, and backpacks. These are all the free rewards this year:

  • Nanner Buddy Back Bling
  • Wild Fronds Back Bling
  • Treezy Back Bling
  • Blossom Drop Contrail
  • Toasted Coconut Emote
  • Bugsy Glider
  • Artifact Axe Pickaxe
  • Nanners Wrap
  • Starry Sea Wrap

The Nanner Buddy Back Bling is earned by subscribing to the Fortnite Crew for the duration of the Summer Escape event.

There are three sets of Summer Escape Quests in total:

  • Quench Quests: available progressively between July 4 and 7. They allow us to obtain XP and the Nanners Wrap.
  • Lagoon Party Quests: available progressively between July 8 and 11. They allow us to obtain XP and the Treezy Back Bling.
  • Make An Entrance Quests: available progressively between July 12 and 16. They allow us to obtain XP and the Blossom Drop Contrail.

In addition, by completing a certain number of Quests we will be able to obtain the following rewards:

  • Complete 14 Summer Escape Quests: Wild Fronds Back Bling
  • Complete 18 Summer Escape Quests: Bugsy Glider
  • Complete 24 Summer Escape Quests: Toasted Coconut Emote and the Lagoon Escape Loading Screen

And it doesn’t stop there. Two special Summer Escape Quests will allow us to obtain the Artifact Axe Pickaxe (available July 11 at 9 AM ET) and the Starry Sea Wrap (available July 12 at 9 AM ET):

Changes and Updates to Weapons, Items, and More in Fortnite’s Summer Escape Event

The following changes to available weapons and items are taking place during the Fortnite Summer Escape event:

  • The Tracker’s Armory Augment has been disabled. The Thermal Mud and Icy Slide Reality Augments have been enabled.
  • Kinetic Boomerang has been disabled. Sharp Tooth Shotgun is enabled.
  • The IceCream Cone is back. They can be found on the ground, in coolers, and in freezers all over the island. Available flavors include Normal IceCream Cone, Frozen IceCream Cone, Guzzling IceCream Cone, Spicy IceCream Cone, and the Lil’Whip’s Special Serve.
  • The Flare Gun has been deactivated. The Firework Flare Gun has been activated.

Fortnite map changes with Summer Escape event

During Fortnite’s Summer Escape event, there are few changes to the map. Simply, one iconic location - Sunswoon Lagoon, at this point on the map - has been decorated with an aquatic party theme:

Several decorations, inflatables and giant murals have appeared here.

New Summer Outfits in the Fortnite Store

For the duration of the Summer Escape event, summer outfits will be returning to the Fortnite Store and new summer-themed outfits will be added.

In addition, the Purradise Meowscles Outfit (the secret outfit of the season) can be obtained by completing your quests starting July 6th at 9 AM ET.)

New summer-themed Creative Maps in Fortnite

While the Summer Escape event is still active, several summer-themed Creative Maps will be highlighted in Fortnite’s Discover tab. There will be a new section called Summer Showdown.
