How to cook in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Cooking is a game mechanic in Tears of the Kingdom that works exactly the same as in Breath of the Wild. To cook food, you first have to enter the inventory by pressing the + button. From there you go to the materials tab, which is the one with the icon of an apple. Once here, you can choose any object; which shows you the options you have on on what to do with them. Choose the one that says “hold”.
The idea for cooking consists of pick between one and five items from the inventory and then throwing them into a cooking pot that is on a lit fire.
When you have objects in your hands, if you approach a cooking pot with fire, the game will prompt you to “cook” by pressing A.
You can take advantage of those that are already placed on the map, or, instead, you can unfold a portable cooking pot if you have any in the inventory. They are found in the Zonai Devices slot. In any case, once you have selected the ingredients Link will prepare a dish with different effects, both healing and additional bonuses. such as cold resistance or increased movement speed.
This time, you won’t have to constantly guess what ingredients this or that dish is made from: you can access the recipe book from the “recipes” section of the inventory, simply by pressing X from any ingredient. The recipes that you discover are unlocked so that you can see them again whenever you want.
