Den of Wolves
Update:

Swedish game studio 10 Chambers has offered an in-depth look at the creative philosophy behind its highly anticipated sci-fi heist game, Den of Wolves. A new documentary short features how the team is building on its strong foundation of cooperative action, drawing on expertise from prior titles like GTFO, Payday: The Heist, and PAYDAY 2, to deliver a compelling and intense futuristic experience.

The game places players in the shoes of criminals-for-hire operating in Midway City, a massive corporate innovation zone where ethics are secondary to profit. This dystopian setting is the foundation of the player’s experience, focusing on high-stakes cooperative heists involving industrial espionage, sabotage, and theft.

Co-founder Oscar J-T Holm highlighted the value this deep dive provides: “We’re putting in a lot of work and time to make Midway a believable city. Even though it’s not an open-world game, having the backdrop and knowing every brand building and brand you see has a purpose, gives the gameplay more value as well.” To achieve this level of immersion, the team has gone as far as creating over 300 fictional corporate brands, each adding layers to the corporate-run narrative.

It’s no exaggeration to say that we’ve had Den of Wolves in our sights for quite some time. In April of this year, we had the opportunity to be among the first to play the upcoming title from 10 Chambers, noting that “From the first moment we play Den of Wolves, we feel this immersive world and a different kind of storytelling, much more immersive than in GTFO. 10 Chambers has created a universe where technology has been pushed to its limits, creating a perfect scenario for high-stakes heists and corporate espionage, where the main element is playing as a team.” For now, and although the game does not yet have a definitive release date, we will have to wait for Early Access to experience this futuristic world in the company of our crew.
