2024 Pokémon World Championships Announces Dates and Venue

The Pokémon Company has announced the first details of the 2024 Pokémon World Championships , which will be held in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi this August.

During the Pokémon Europe 2024 International Championships broadcast in London, it was announced that the 2024 Pokémon World Championships will be held at the Hawai’i Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaii from August 16-18, 2024. Along with this information, a video and the official artwork for the event were unveiled, featuring Pikachu and other Pokémon enjoying a scuba diving adventure.

During the last 2023 Pokémon World Championships in Yokohama, Japan, it was announced that The Pokémon Company had chosen Honolulu for the next tournament, returning to the Pacific Islands after 12 years, when the current generation was Pokémon Black & White.

The tournament, hosted by The Pokémon Company, is designed to find the best Pokémon players in various specialties in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, Pokémon TCG, Pokémon GO and Pokémon Unite. It will also be the place to find Pokémon Center merchandise and all kinds of tournament-related memorabilia.

Pokémon World Championships 2023: An Adventure in Japan

Ever since the Pokémon World Championships were finally able to be held in London, England, after the COVID-19 health crisis, the Pokémon Company has been eager to bring the tournament to new locations. Just last year, after 20 years, the tournament finally made its way to Japan, with Yokohama as the host city.

This event was able to extend the Pokémon experience beyond the PACIFICO Yokohama Convention Center, transforming nearby venues into a true space for fans of the series, with activities, shows, a symphony orchestra, a drone show, as well as multiple displays of Pokémon TCG cards and photo opportunities that brought Pokémon to life.
