'28 Years Later' reveals plot details and progress of new trilogy thanks to one of its stars

The return of the horror saga is well underway.

28 años despues

June 20, 2025, will mark the return of the long-awaited sequel to ‘28 Days Later’. ‘28 Years Later’ is one of the most anticipated horror films of recent times, and little by little we are learning more details about the work, with one of its actors, Ralph Fiennes, talking to IndieWire and highlighting that the first two parts of the new trilogy of films have already been shot, while giving more details about the plot of a world for which almost three decades have passed since the original events.

Fiennes points out that “It’s three films, of which two have been shot. For 28 years, Britain is 28 years into this terrible plague of infected people who are violent, rabid humans with a few pockets of uninfected communities. And it centers on a young boy who wants to find a doctor to help his dying mother. He leads his mother through this beautiful northern English terrain. But of course, around them hiding in forests and hills and woods are the infected. But he finds a doctor who is a man we might think is going to be weird and odd, but actually is a force for good.”

The return of a mythical horror saga in all its glory

At the peak of Cillian Murphy’s career, few could have predicted that he would return to one of the sagas that launched his career. An outstanding cast that includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes, among others.
