2XKO, Riot Games’ upcoming fighting game, gets dates and regions for its first playtest

The promising fighting game from Riot Games, 2XKO, is getting closer and closer to release. Now we know when its first playtest will take place.

2XKO is one of the most discussed Riot Games projects ever since its first images were shown. Previously known as Project L, few could have expected that the developers behind League of Legends would decide to fully immerse themselves in a genre like fighting games, but the bet is notable, and the Runeterra universe is the stage on which this title looks to build itself a place in the FGC community. It is now possible to register on their website for what they have called Alpha Lab, a playtest that players will be able to enjoy from August 8 to 19.

2XKO notes on its official website that “The purpose of Alpha Lab is to collect your feedback while it’s still early enough to make real changes to the game. 2XKO is still in an unpolished state, but the team’s hope is that by giving you our first draft—jank and all—we’ll have time to cook before the game launches in 2025.”

The 2XKO playtest will be available in few regions

The playtest can be enjoyed in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Brazil, Japan and Mexico. We have to wait and see if any more regions end up being added to the Alpha Lab, but for now players who are not in the territories listed above will have to wait to be able to enjoy the long-awaited fighting games from Riot Games.
