5 amazing demos of games from “Not E3” you can download and play right now
Amongst all of the announcements made during the “Not E3″ conferences of this past weekend, here are 5 games with demos that are looking like true gems.
Here’s one of the best things to come from the so-called “Not E3″. In the absence of face-to-face events in which the public and the press can test all the games announced at the different conferences, many studios launched their own demos for everyone through Steam (and other platforms). And although we know that there are three demos that you will all be trying, those being Final Fantasy XVI, Lies of P, and Ghost Trick Phantom Detective Remastered, we also wanted to recommend you five other games that as soon as you try them will become essential in your schedule.
En Garde!, a tribute to the musketeers
One for all and all for one! Adalia de Volador is the swordswoman who stars in this beautiful action game that is easy to look at, but will make you fall in love with its gameplay. Dynamic, fluid, and cinematic, this first project from Fireplace Games looks amazing and brings us back to the golden age of swashbuckling comedies.
Jusant, the child of Rime and Death Stranding
A game of meditation and climbing puzzles? Jusant’s proposal is already quite striking by itself, but what if we add the artistic styling of Rime or the games of Fumito Ueda (ICO) and That Game Company (Journey)? The result is a proposal as original as it is beautiful in which, like in Death Stranding, managing our equipment and planning each trip is essential to climb all kinds of mountains and overcoming the challenges of nature.
Luto, one of the scariest games of 2023
Developed by Spanish studio Broken Bird Games, Luto has been craving one of those games that we better play in company and with the lights on to avoid heart attacks. Described as “a narrative experience of psychological terror in first person”, in this survival horror we will take command of a person unable to leave their own home, where he is tormented by the ghosts of their past..
Road to Vostok, the new STALKER?
A post-apocalyptic experience located on the border between Finland and Russia that seems to repeat the word “hardcore” every two lines and is proud to offer “hyper-realistic survival”. Hostile NPCs, need to self-care, tactical approaches to all sorts of events and situations, permadeath... We can’t think of a better heir to The STALKER franchise.
The Bookwalker, the most original graphic adventure
The Bookwalker is a narrative adventure in which we handle a writer with the ability to go inside the stories in books. Far from using this power for good, Etienne Quist (that’s his name) uses it to travel between reality and fiction, stealing legendary items like Thor’s hammer and Excalibur to solve all kinds of puzzles and rewrite those ancient stories in their favor. If such a premise and its surreal character design don’t urge you to give it a try, we don’t know what would.
