Sony’s State of Play that we saw last week left us with weighty announcements like an almost 10 minute trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and the sudden release of a new Silent Hill for free, but it also invited us to a new event dedicated exclusively to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the continuation of Final Fantasy VII Remake for PS5. It is one of the most anticipated releases in recent years (launching on February 29) and to celebrate it, Square Enix has just announced a demo of the game that is now available!

The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo has a size of 48 GB. At launch, it will have the Nibelheim flashback where you can also control Sephiroth. Square Enix intends to update it on February 21 to introduce a playable portion in Junon. Its duration will be around 3 hours. Below we leave you the link for you to download it.

Does my save data transfer to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

Yes, saved data from the demo will carry over to the final version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth... with a catch. If you complete the flashback you can skip it once you jump into the game, but your progress in Junon will not carry over. By playing it you will receive special rewards, such as the survival set and the Kupo amulet, which will allow you to obtain more resources from material sources.

We have already tried it

At MeriStation we have had the opportunity to play Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for several hours and in our impressions we say that “It is a game that is born from nostalgia, but that is limited to copying what was already done, but rather takes risks and feels fresh, alive”. In this link, you can read the full text, in which we address aspects such as the combat system, the exploration of the open world, and some of the activities that we can carry out in it, as is the case of Queen’s Blood, a new collectible card game. The game will go on sale on February 29 exclusively for PS5.
