The world of ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ created by George R.R. Martin continues to expand on television. One of its upcoming series, ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, has already wrapped up filming after starting last June and is entering the post-production phase. The spin-off was filmed mostly in Northern Ireland and everything indicates that its premiere will alternate with ‘House of the Dragon’ and its future seasons.

The first season of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ will have a total of six episodes and is expected to premiere in mid-2025. The series is based on the compilation of three stories published in 1998, 2003, and 2010 that narrate the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg, better known as Dunk and Egg. The length of its season is in line with the size of each story and promises to have intensity thanks to its brevity.

The ‘Game of Thrones’ universe is going further on television

‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ is a different kind of story from what we’re used to with other ‘Game of Thrones’ productions, but it still aims to maintain the usual level of crudeness that the entire universe is known for. One of the biggest premieres of 2025 is preparing to stand out from the beginning.

The synopsis of the series reads as follows: “A century before the events of ‘Game of Thrones,’ two unlikely heroes roamed Westeros: a young and naive but brave knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his little squire, Egg. Set in a time when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet faded from living memory, great destinies, powerful enemies and dangerous deeds await these unlikely and incomparable friends.”
