A new ‘Jurassic Park’ movie is moving to pre-production without Chris Pratt or Bryce Dallas Howard

The next ‘Jurassic Park’ movie will bring with it “a new Jurassic era”, leaving behind the cast that we’ve met over the past 6 films of the series.

Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park’ is one of the longest-running series in modern cinema, with the original film having turned 30 years old in 2023. After the last trilogy starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, which concluded with ‘Jurassic World Dominion’, the series will continue to move forward, but surprisingly it will do so without either of its stars.

What will be the seventh film of the dinosaur franchise is now officially in production, but reports indicate that it will not feature the cast of the last three, which suggests that we will witness a new reboot or plot arc, (via THR). One of the biggest rumors suggest that it would be David Koepp who is in charge of the script, being a veteran of the saga having worked on the original film and its sequel, ‘Jurassic Park: The Lost World’. The premiere would be scheduled for 2025.

Although no details of the plot have been specified, everything indicates that they’re talking about a new story arc, since “a new Jurassic era” is mentioned. This would leave out not only Pratt and Dallas-Howard, but also Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, protagonists of the first trilogy. Who will be the director is something that has yet to be officially confirmed, but it is quite likely that Colin Trevorrow, who was behind the cameras in ‘Jurassic World Dominion’, will come back to the director’s seat. What is certain is that the producer will be Frank Marshall, who supervised those three films, and that the executive producer will be Amblin Entertainment, the production company of Steven Spielberg.

A new video game, Jurassic Park Survival, also on the way

Fans of the series are in luck, since in addition to this film, Jurassic Park Survival, a video game by Saber Interactive, was announced during the last The Game Awards gala. With gameplay similar, at first glance, to Alien Isolation, the studio that has recently specialized in ports will create its own game from scratch, with an uncertain release date. It will be set chronologically during the events that occurred in the first trilogy.
