A new name has emerged as a contender for the next James Bond, and he would be the youngest 007 Agent in history

Amazon MGM Studios reportedly already has a new candidate to play James Bond. According to Variety, Louis Partridge could become the youngest 007 in history at just 22 years old.

Update:

After acquiring the James Bond franchise in 2021, Amazon MGM Studios continues its search for the next Agent 007. Joining the list of names—which includes Callum Turner, Henry Cavill, and Jacob Elordi—is a new candidate who would fit the studio’s plan to rejuvenate the character. In fact, at 22 years old, he would become the youngest actor in history to portray the British Secret Service agent.

Variety was the publication that revealed the name of Louis Partridge, known for the ‘Enola Holmes’ series and, above all, for his role in the latest series from the creator of ‘Peaky Blinders,’ ‘House of Guinness.’ In fact, it is Steven Knight, the screenwriter for both, who will also write the story for the next James Bond film following ‘No Time to Die’—the last one starring Daniel Craig—with Denis Villeneuve (‘Dune’) directing.

“Attempts to confirm with Partridge’s reps or Amazon MGM Studios have been as predictably futile as any Bond villain’s wildly-complicated plans for global domination,” Variety reported. Unsurprisingly, Amazon has yet to provide any details about one of the casting decisions that has the film world on the edge of its seat.

It’s nothing more than rumors, but as we mentioned, Partridge’s name fits right in with Amazon’s plans, as the company is looking for an actor who isn’t overly famous but is young, with the intention of creating a long-running series featuring the same lead. The Londoner will turn 23 next June, which is significantly younger than the other actors who have played the character.

For example, the youngest so far was George Lazenby, who made his debut in the franchise at age 29 in ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ (1969). Meanwhile, the oldest was Roger Moore, who was 42 at the time of filming ‘Live and Let Die’ (1973). Not much younger were Pierce Brosnan (42 in ‘GoldenEye’) and Timothy Dalton (41 in ‘The Living Daylights’). On the other hand, Moore himself was 57 in his final film (’A View to a Kill’, 1985), followed on the list of the oldest actors by Daniel Craig, who, at 53, filmed the aforementioned ‘No Time to Die’.
