Star Wars

A new ‘Star Wars’ trilogy is on its way, with upcoming Episodes 10, 11, and 12 of the Skywalker saga

The Galaxy Far, Far Away is set to return with a new trilogy of movies for the Skywalker saga.

The future of ‘Star Wars’ and its main saga has been confirmed to continue on the big screen, as according to Deadline, Lucasfilm has reached an agreement with British screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg to develop a trilogy of films that will include episodes 10, 11 and 12 of the Skywalker Saga, which began in 1977 with ‘Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope’, directed by George Lucas. Kinberg will be in charge of writing the three films and Kathleen Kennedy will be in charge of producing them with him.

Deadline’s information highlights that it will be the continuation of the Skywalker Saga, but points out that other insiders claim that Kinberg will begin a new saga in the ‘Star Wars’ universe. Neither Lucasfilm nor Disney have commented on this information. Kinberg has previously worked at Lucasfilm alongside Dave Filoni and Carrie Beck on the animated series ‘Star Wars Rebels’ and, at the same time, was also a consultant on ‘Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens’.

The future of ‘Star Wars’

Simon Kinberg has an outstanding career in the film industry, being recognized for having worked for a decade on a franchise such as ‘X-Men’ and films resulting from it such as ‘Logan’. In addition, he was producer of the first two ‘Deadpool’ films and executive producer of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’. Now he is preparing for one of the great challenges of his life as a filmmaker by being in charge of the future of ‘Star Wars’ on the big screen.

‘Star Wars’ completely changed the way we understand the film and television industry, becoming a global box office success and generating a global phenomenon that went beyond its natural environment.
