Matthew Perry’s career
Mathew Perry began his acting career in the late 1980s with several television series such as Growing Pains. In the early 90′s he appeared in shows like Beverly Hills, 90210 and Sidney. However, his real breakthrough came in 1994 when he was one of the 6 main characters in the NBC series Friends. The show had record-breaking ratings and lasted 10 years where Perry played Chandler Bing through 234 episodes, earning a million dollars per episode in its last two seasons and several Emmy Award nominations.
After Friends, his career focused on theater, film, and television, with sporadic appearances in series such as Ally McBeal, The West Wing, and even his directorial debut in Scrubs. However, many of the later shows did not have the impact he had in the 90s.
For a long time, the actor had addiction problems with certain drugs, entering rehab for the first time in 1997 for Vicodin addiction, and entering again in 2001. His addiction generated health problems such as weight changes and digestive system problems.
May he rest in peace.
