Amazon
Ads are coming to Prime Video and the only way to avoid them is to pay more
If you want to enjoy your favorite movies and series on Prime Video, you’ll now have to pay an extra fee besides your subscription or suffer advertisements.
It seems like this day had to come sooner or later: Amazon will introduce ads to Prime Video while we watch any of the content, from movies and documentaries to series. This has been announced by the company, along with the confirmation that we will not necessarily have to see them, since we can bet on a new measure that consists of removing ads by paying more for our subscription.
In the United States, the Amazon Prime subscription costs $14.99 per month and with the arrival of the ads, users who do not wish to see them will be able to optionally pay $2.99 more. We will have to wait to find out the price in other regions.
The advertisements and the subsequent price increase for those who do not wish to see one will not take place until sometime in 2024. Canada, Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom will be the first territories to receive this measure, and others will follow. The specific date remains to be revealed, although the company will notify all users by email.
Amazon Prime Day October 2023
The Amazon Prime Day deals will begin on Tuesday, October 10 at 3 AM ET, and will end on Wednesday, October 11 at 11:59 p.m. From that moment on, you’ll get access to all of the deals on the site as long as you have a Prime membership. Fortunately, if you don’t already have a membership you can sign up for their 30-day free trial before October 10, enjoy all of the deals you want, and then cancel it before the trial ends and you’re charged for another month.
