Aether & Iron, a curious mix between BioShock and Disco Elysium, announces its arrival this semester
This interesting proposal will take us to an alternative New York with key decisions and turn-based vehicular combat.

BioShock and Disco Elysium are two big names in the world of video games. It’s hard to believe that no one had thought of combining the two... until now. Released almost two years ago, Aether & Iron is a curious combination of the isometric perspective and gameplay mechanics of Disco Elysium, along with some of the imaginative atmosphere of BioShock, where reality takes on fantastical and science fiction overtones.
Several months after its announcement, we now know that Aether & Iron will be released very soon. Specifically, this semester. This was announced by its developer, Seismic Squirrel, which also took the opportunity to share additional details about the narrative and gameplay of this interesting RPG, which will be coming to PC soon.
What is Aether & Iron about?
Set in 1930, Aether & Iron takes us to a New York City that floats thanks to a mysterious substance called aether, responsible for the development of anti-gravity technology. We take on the role of Gia, a smuggler who moves through the dangerous shadows of a gloomy city, with a strong visual identity inspired by the Art Deco period and detective comics of the 1930s.
In addition to its narrative focus, the game will feature turn-based vehicular combat, weighty choices made using a dice system—similar to Disco Elysium—and the possibility of teaming up with various characters with different talents, which we can improve.
