Star Wars

Ahsoka: what does the owl that appears next to the Jedi in key moments mean?

A white owl named Morai keeps appearing next to Ahsoka in her most important moments throughout the Star Wars franchise. What does it actually mean?

Update:
Ahsoka Star Wars Morai

The ‘Ahsoka’ Star Wars series has now concluded and it left us a good handful of open plots facing a possible season two or as part of the upcoming film based on the universe of ‘The Mandalorian’ in charge of Dave Filoni. However, in the last episode of the series starring Rosario Dawson, a mysterious bird has appeared once again, always making an appearance at key moments for the togruta. Who or what is it and what is its symbolism in the lore?

Who is Morai, the white owl who follows Ahsoka?

This species of white bird of prey is Morai, a mysterious female convor who first appeared in the animated series ‘Star Wars Rebels’, a bird that curiously always appears at important moments for Ahsoka Tano, since the discovery of Ahsoka’s lightsaber from the time of the Clone Wars by Darth Vader to the meeting between Vader and his Padawan in Malachor, in addition to guiding Ezra Bridger to the World between Worlds.

We also saw Morai when Ahsoka Tano first showed up in ‘The Mandalorian’, in addition to being present on the shoulder of The Daughter in the mural of the Mortis Force Gods. Be that as it may, all this leads us to think that Morai represents the union between Ahsoka and The Daughter, after being resurrected from her murder at the hands of The Son. And the appearance of Morai at the end of ‘Ahsoka’ could represent the balance that the Togruta has brought to the galaxy after the end of the series, providing that symbolism that Dave Filoni, creator of this series, loves to imbue to all of his Star Wars work.

Will we see Morai again in future projects of ‘Star Wars’ related to Ahsoka Tano? Of course, it is likely that we will see the elusive bird in future appearances of the togruta in its most likely second season or in other projects like ‘The Mandalorian’ or the film Dave Filoni himself is working on.
