Alarm bells are ringing over the uncontrolled parade of attraction closures at Disney parks

Mythical attractions that are no more.

Update:

Once the holiday season is over, it is common for theme parks to begin maintenance work on their attractions. Of all the parks, Disney’s is the most popular in the world. What happens? The number of attractions closed in the parks of the company founded by Walt Disney is higher than usual, most of the closures are temporary, but some are permanent.

Disney World, in Orlando, Florida, has four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. At the moment, there are a total of 10 attractions that are closed. At the Magic Kingdom, major changes to the Cars area will begin in 2025, including the closure of attractions such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Astro Orbiter and Hall of Presidents. In many cases, the reopening date is unknown and is estimated to be as late as 2026.

Closures and their inconveniences in Disney parks

An important point in Disney World is EPCOT, the park dedicated to technological innovation, which also has closed attractions such as Test Track or The Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. Both will return in 2025, in the summer and in March. This dynamic of closures is happening in all Disney parks and may make people who are considering going to Disney World think twice and find a place with more attractions.

Another disadvantage of these closures is that, with fewer attractions, waiting times may be longer as everything is less spread out, and areas of the park may be closed, creating a greater sense of crowding.
