‘Alien Earth’ gives us a first teaser that explains how Xenomorphs get to our planet
How would Xenomorphs even get to our pale blue dot? ‘Alien Earth’ is propped to show us exactly that, as well as the horror that would come with it.
Seven seconds. Seven measly seconds were enough for ‘Alien Earth’ to build up the hype. That’s how long the new teaser for what will be the first long-form series based on Ridley Scott’s universe and the first of his stories that will bring the xenomorphs to our planet. And if you are wondering how it will do it, pay attention to what is heard in the background of this preview: “This ship collected specimens from a far away moon… monsters”.
The teaser also shows us some of the series’ settings (the ship in question and a flooded cave), a quick look at Ellen Ripley’s new successor, Sydney Chandler, and the design of the xenomorph that will walk along our beaches.
Platform and release date of ‘Alien Earth’
The series is planned for 2025, will premiere in Disney+, and will have Noah Hawley behind it, the creator and scriptwriter of productions such as ‘Fargo’ and ‘Legion’. Among the few confirmed details, the showrunner wanted to make it clear that it “will not take into account ‘Prometheus’ or ‘Alien: Covenant’”.
“I’ve talked to Ridley Scott at length about it. For me and for many people, xenomorphs are the perfect life form. The creation of the creature is due to millions of years of evolution and comes from having existed for a million years in space. The idea expressed in those films, which is a biological weapon created half an hour ago, has no value for me.”
