Dragon Ball

All appearances of Tori-Bot, Akira Toriyama in Dragon Ball

Akira Toriyama made some appearances in his most popular manga series, Dragon Ball, but always through his in-universe avatar known as “Tori-Bot”.

It’s been only a few weeks since the world learned of Akira Toriyama’s passing. The author of Dr. Slump, Dragon Ball, Sand Land, and many video games and other media projects left a massive legacy when he died at the age of 68. And ever since, fans all over the world have continued praising and remembering his works and his life. One fan decided to find every time the author inserted himself in his most famous work.

As it turns out, Toriyama had created an avatar that represented himself whenever he wanted to speak directly to readers while he worked on the Dragon Ball manga. Called “Tori-Bot”, this character was an adorable and friendly robot man who constantly appeared throughout the series. While most of the time he could be found wandering around in the background, or as part of crowds reacting to events happening in the manga, Tori-Bot is even considered to be the most powerful character in the Dragon Ball universe, as he was the creator of the story and chose who lives or dies.

Tori-Bot also appeared in other Toriyama books and productions, but as Dragon Ball (as well as Z and Super) was his most popular one, it’s obvious that he would also appear many more times. Twitter/X user @BhdAnkur took to the site to share everytime the character was shown in the various anime or manga of the franchise. You can find all of them below.
