Today is the day: Final Fantasy XVI is out on PS5, and even though it’s still early, something tells us that more than one of you have already played it for several hours. It was one of the most anticipated releases of the year, and to take stock of how it has fared critically, we decided to list the scores it has received and take a look at its final score on Metacritic.

At the time of writing, Final Fantasy XVI has 100 reviews on Metacritic. No more, no less. One hundred reviews give the game an average score of 88. As the days go by, it is possible that the average score will change, although with so many reviews it is difficult to say. In the portal OpenCritic, the game has a little more average (90).
