All the announcements from the 2024 Pokémon World Championships Closing Ceremony

The tournament may be over, but the Pokémon world continues to expand and grow in the games we already know.

The Pokémon World Championships are over; the 2024 edition brought us several surprises, from competitive decks in the TCG that were out of the meta, to interesting compositions in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet with creatures that are not so common in the competitive game nowadays, to the arrival of some Latin American players in the top 5 of a worldwide competition. With all this, his closing left us with some announcements.

Pokémon Go to add new mechanic

With two teasers that don’t say much to those who don’t know the mainline game, the rumor that the Dynamax mechanic, which debuted in Pokémon Sword and Shield, is coming to Pokémon GO is getting stronger and stronger. For now, there is no concrete date.

More Characters Coming to Pokémon Unite!

Darkrai, Psyduck, and Armarouge will be coming to Pokémon Unite soon. According to the information revealed at the event, Amarouge will arrive on September 12, and the second character will arrive in October); the first will be an Attacker, and Darkrai will join the Speedster class to give players more variety. Of course, we can’t forget about the Supporters, and there’s one Pokémon that looks like it’s going to give us a lot of trouble, but it’s sure to be a lot of fun: Psyduck, which is coming in November.

We look forward to receiving more information on the final cost of these new sets and their global availability. For now, they are scheduled for release sometime in 2025.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket: We Now Have a Release Date!

Originally announced for February 2024, Pokémon TCG Pocket was introduced to the community as an experience where players could open two packs of cards a day to build their collection, with artwork that evoked nostalgia and unique animations that could be enjoyed via smartphone; now the company has finally revealed its release date.

This title from Creatures Inc. together with DeNA Co. Ltd., who have a good pedigree working in the mobile video game market, and now, thanks to the closing ceremony, we already know that it will be available on October 30, 2024, for Android and iOS devices. It is already possible to pre-register to install it when it is available.

A look at the new Trading Card Game expansions

The Pokémon Company wants to keep the Trading Card Game fresh, and the best way to do that is by introducing new expansions. Even though the meta has reached a certain point of equilibrium, especially thanks to the annual rotation of cards, it is still a good time to get into the TCG world, either through collecting or if you want to play competitively.

On the occasion of the Pokémon World Championships 2024, it has been announced the arrival of new sets to collect and include in your deck, based on trainers that we have seen throughout the games, from the most recent ones like Lily and Marnie, to some classics like N. from Pokémon Black and White, without forgetting others like Red.
