Amazon announces major change for Prime Day 2026, moving the global sales event to June

Just like every summer, Prime Day is one of the days when Amazon offers discounts across its entire store, and in 2026 it will continue to celebrate these days—but with a major change that bargain hunters won’t want to miss.

Prime Day is usually held in July, but 2026 will be the exception. According to a press release, Amazon will hold its discount event in June this year. While this shouldn’t come as a surprise—since Prime Day was held on June 21–22 in 2021—what’s noteworthy here is that the exact dates haven’t been announced, and “June 2026” has been left as a placeholder.

For now, the announcement doesn’t provide any further details about the new date, simply stating that “Prime members will be able to take advantage of deep discounts on everything from electronics, kitchen items, beauty products, and apparel to fresh groceries and everyday pantry and household essentials—plus get their back-to-school shopping done early.”

We’ll have to wait until May for more details, as it also remains to be seen whether, like last year, this Prime Day will span four days.

In which countries will Prime Day 2026 take place?

According to the press release, Prime Day 2026 will take place in 26 countries. During June, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States will be among the selected countries, while Australia, Brazil, India, and Japan will be able to shop Prime Day deals later this summer.
