Apex Legends mid-season opens the Wild Iron event, bringing weapons and balance to the Battle Royale
The Apex Legends: Showdown mid-season brings new weapons and balance.

Apex Legends gets a new limited-time event, bringing massive Legend reworks and a new twist on combat with a focus on explosive power. The Wild Iron event introduces a new weapon, the Mythic Flatline, and a series of powerful “Wild Cards” to shift the meta in a more chaotic and destructive direction. This update also brings significant changes to some of the game’s most popular Legends, including Mad Maggie and Seer, with an aim to make them more versatile and fun to play.
Explosive Combat and New Gameplay Mechanics
At the heart of the Wild Iron event is the Mythic Flatline, a special weapon designed by Rampart and Fuse. This new collaboration weapon boasts two unique abilities: every fifth bullet deals double damage in an area-of-effect blast, and any knocked enemies turn into a time bomb. This encourages players to play more aggressively, as securing a knock now creates a dangerous opportunity for enemy squads. Additionally, the event introduces eight new Wild Cards that players can craft in Replicators. These cards grant powerful new abilities, such as “Crackerjack,” which instantly reloads your weapon on a knock, or “Down Bad,” which causes enemies to explode when knocked, creating more opportunities for explosive team wipes.

The event’s emphasis on explosives also extends to the loot pool, with a higher chance of finding EPG-1 grenade launchers in Mythic bins and an increased spawn rate for the Bocek Compound Bow. These changes aim to shake up the usual gameplay loop and provide players with new and exciting ways to engage in combat.
Major Legend Reworks and Balance Changes
Beyond the new event, the update includes major reworks to several Legends. The changes to Mad Maggie are a direct response to player feedback, aiming to make her more effective and reliable. Her tactical Riot Drill and ultimate Wrecking Ball are now faster to deploy and more consistent. The new “Gunrunning” upgrade allows her passive speed boost to work with SMGs and pistols, making her even more dangerous in close-quarters combat. The ultimate has also been adjusted, with speed pads now providing the Fortified buff and a longer duration, turning her ultimate into a powerful tool for both pushing and rotating.

Seer also receives a much-needed update to bring him back into the competitive meta without being oppressive. His passive heartbeat sensor and tactical ability now have an increased range, giving him more information from a safer distance. Hitting an enemy with his tactical now grants a speed boost, making him more effective in combat. His ultimate, Exhibit, has a larger radius and allows Seer to jump higher and hover while aiming down sights, providing new strategic options. The new “Home Base” upgrade makes his tactical recharge four times faster within his ultimate, rewarding aggressive play and team coordination.
