Apex Legends: mid-season update 24.1 to bring significant changes to weapons and legends
The Beast Mode Event and new update will change the game.

Respawn Entertainment will be launching the Beast Mode event on Apex Legends from March 25th to April 15th. This event will be accompanied by a mid-season update, 24.1, which will include a number of important adjustments to weapons, legends, and the ranking system. The goal of this update is to balance the game and provide new experiences for players.
Changes in arms
This update brings significant changes to the Apex Legends arsenal. The Nemesis receives quality-of-life improvements to compensate for the loss of the Hop-Up Accelerator, with an increased delay before the charge begins to drop (from 6 to 8 seconds) and increased weapon effectiveness at all levels. The Devotion LMG receives reduced recoil intensity on first shots, while the L-STAR EMG loses its reverse recoil mechanic to balance its power in melee.
Marksman weapons also receive adjustments. The 30-30 Repeater increases the damage of its charged shot for both body shots (65, up from 58) and headshots (104, up from 93). The G7 Scout also receives a damage increase and a slight improvement in rate of fire to compensate for the loss of the Accelerator Hop-Up. The P2020 normalizes laser effectiveness, and the Wingman no longer accepts the Hop-Up Charger Booster.
Shotguns and submachine guns also see changes. The EVA-8 expands its spread pattern. The Alternator, C.A.R., R-99, and Volt submachine guns increase the size of their magazines at all levels, allowing for longer engagements.
Legend and perk adjustments
The Skirmisher class receives new perks, including Trailblazer (increased speed when sprinting to allied Skirmishers) and Charged Knockdown (extra skill charge and 50 HP regeneration when knocking down enemies). Ash has seen an increase in the recharge time of his ultimate, while Alter has received significant upgrades, including two charges for his tactics, increased portal depth, and new level upgrades. Pathfinder, Horizon, Wraith, and Revenant also receive adjustments to their abilities and upgrades.

Changes to maps and game modes
Map rotation for public and ranked play includes E-District, Canyon of the Kings, and Storm Point. Mixtape mode features Control, Gun Run, and TDM on different maps. In addition, a new limited play mode called “Power Sword Royale” will be introduced, featuring a power sword with unique abilities. Also returning are the April Fools and Solo game modes, the latter with player count adjustments and a respawn token system.
Classification system update:
A new level-based division restart rule will be implemented, replacing the previous hard restart. This is intended to create more balanced games by placing players with similar skill levels in the same divisions at the start of each division.
Technical improvements
This update removes DirectX 11 support and focuses on DirectX 12 performance improvements. New configuration options are added for lobby FPS limit and resolution handling.
Bug fixes and quality of life improvements
The update also includes numerous bug fixes and quality-of-life enhancements, such as a bug fix for loading level data, improvements to interaction with downed teammates, and audio tweaks for various Legends and weapons.
With these changes, Respawn Entertainment continues to keep Apex Legends fresh and balanced, offering players new ways to enjoy the game.
