Update:

The latest Apex Legends season, named ‘Amped’ is just around the corner. This content update, launching on November 4th, promises to inject a new level of speed and dynamism into the Apex Games. Players will experience critical improvements across the map, Legend abilities, and movement mechanics, all designed to elevate the competitive experience.

The most significant change is the overhaul of Olympus, which has been “rebuilt for a better flow, dynamic positioning, and enhanced gameplay”. The map update brings four all-new Points of Interest (POIs). The sprawling Somers University campus, built by Horizon to honor her son, replaces Orbital Cannon and features high-rise architecture and Horizon Elevators for reaching new heights. Meanwhile, the Gravity Engine replaces Energy Depot and utilizes Branthium power, combining elevators, zip lines, and verticality to make it “the next hot spot on Olympus.” The new Stabilizer platform replaces Docks, and the improved Dockyard area near Hydroponics now emphasizes verticality. The developers focused on transforming open areas into exciting POIs that reward skilled play and fixing problematic rotations, providing something for every player.

Legends take flight and fortify

Three Legends receive substantial updates to boost their combat efficacy and fulfill their core fantasies. Valkyrie is poised to dominate aerial combat. Her VTOL Jets now offer an increased speed boost and recharge three times faster, while her ultimate, Skyward Dive, has a shorter take-off time. The developers explained that they want Valkyrie to feel dangerous in motion again, with a “modernized” jetpack that is more responsive and faster. Her tactical, Missile Swarm, is more useful, gaining zero self-damage, no height restrictions, and now scanning enemies on impact while resetting passive movement abilities.

Rampart’s tactical, Amped Cover, now evolves with the game, gaining health as her Evo level increases and including a roof and speed boosts. This is designed to make her coverage matter more, especially in the late game, turning her into a dynamic launching pad for her squad rather than a static defender.

Finally, Horizon sees improvements to her Gravity Lift, which now has a shorter cool-down and better lift speed, along with more health for her ultimate, Black Hole. These changes aim to restore her role as the “master of verticality,” giving her more fluid and precise tools for aerial mastery.

The season also introduces the Double Tap Locked Hop-Up for the Alternator, giving it the “devastating lethal capacity” to fire both barrels simultaneously, making it incredibly deadly in close-quarters combat. Furthermore, a new Mantle Boost mechanic grants a speed boost when scaling ledges or walls, and the Trident vehicle receives better collision protection and dedicated vehicle health, making vehicle combat more satisfying.
