ARC Raiders’ ‘North Line’ update opens a new global chapter

The hit co-op shooter receives its first major content patch with the Stella Montis map, two fearsome enemies, and a community event that will set the tone for the game’s future.

Embark Studios launches the first major content update for its cooperative shooter ARC Raiders. Under the name “North Line,” this new chapter seeks to expand the game’s universe and offer a deeper experience for the global Raiders community.

The update will arrive on Thursday, November 13, and will be rolled out at 10:30 AM CET / 1:30 AM PT. The highlight of this release is the introduction of a global community event, “Breaking New Ground,” which will serve as the key to unlocking the mysterious new map: Stella Montis. The update is completely free for all players who have already purchased the title, which has proven to be a recent success with over 700,000 concurrent players.

What mysteries does Stella Montis hide?

The main attraction of ‘North Line’ is the expansion of the frontier northward with the new map, Stella Montis. This region is a drastic change from the familiar areas, inviting Raiders to explore structures that remain strangely intact, contrasting with the usual destruction of the Rust Belt.

Shrouded in a cold and barren atmosphere, Stella Montis whispers stories of humanity’s abandoned dreams of reaching for the stars. As they delve into these ruins, players will not only seek the truth that lies buried, but also have the opportunity to obtain valuable rare resources, new essential items, and hidden weapon blueprints that are crucial to advancing the mission to reclaim the surface.

How do you unlock the New Map?

Access to Stella Montis is not immediate; it must be earned through the collective effort of the player base. The tunnels leading to this new region will only open once the global community completes the “Breaking New Ground” event.

This global community event is the first of its kind for ARC Raiders. Players will need to join forces to help Speranza rebuild these tunnels. As they contribute, they earn Merits, a new event currency that will drive collective progress. The exact timing of Stella Montis’ launch will depend on how quickly the community reaches the goal. Once unlocked, the event will enter its Phase II, “Staking Our Claim,” which will introduce a new progression system with challenges and rewards through December.

Who are the new ARC enemies?

Alongside the new terrain, the update introduces two significant new ARC threats, each with specific challenges. Raiders must prepare to face The Matriarch, an intimidating mechanical colossus that will be available from the start of the “Breaking New Ground” event under specific map conditions.

On the other hand, the most exclusive threat is The Shredder, an ARC that will only appear once access to Stella Montis is opened. Its presence in the new region will force players to remain on constant alert.

To compensate for these new dangers, the ‘North Line’ update also arms players with new tools, including:

The Aphelion Rifle.
New types of mines, such as Pulse Mine, Deadline Mine, and Gas Mine.
New themed mission lines centered around Stella Montis.

This is just the beginning. Embark Studios has already confirmed that its next major update, “Cold Snap,” will arrive in December, bringing with it the Flickering Flames event, new snowy maps, and the highly anticipated Expeditions.
