Assassin’s Creed Mirage is going so old-school, it’s not even getting DLC
The next Assassin’s Creed game by Ubisoft is a return to the origins of the series, with the developers revealing that they’re not planning on “extensive” post-launch support.
Go back to your roots, embrace the past, and drink from the waters of nostalgia. Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the newest production from Ubisoft, is an oasis in the desert for gamers tired of the huge RPG experiences of the last few years. The French company is leaving this formula aside and presents a more compact title, more rooted in the origins of the series. A game with a classic aroma, so much so that it won’t even have DLC, as Stephane Boudon, creative director of the title, has assured.
“For now, Mirage has no plan for DLC or extensive post-launch,”explained the developer in a Reddit AMA. The “for now” comment opens the doors to future content, but expansions are usually planned in advance and are usually part of the season passes, something that has not been contemplated on this occasion.
The Deluxe Edition of Assassin’s Creed Mirage does not include any extra missions, just some digital objects like:
Assassin’s Creed Mirage stars a well-known character from Valhalla
Basim is a small-time thief when the Order of the Hidden Ones takes notice of him.. Hand in hand with his mentor, Roshan, he will change his destiny and leave thievery behind to put his skills at the service of the Brotherhood. Set in the 9th century, the game will take us to explore the exoticism of Baghdad, all while using the classic mechanics of the series: stealth, assassinations, and parkour.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage was born as a kind of expansion to Valhalla, but quickly broke free of those bonds and it became independent from the game starring Eivor, even though the main character is an old acquaintance from the Viking title.
The title will be available on October 12 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.
