Assassin’s Creed Mirage is now Ubisoft biggest success in the current generation

The return to basics of Assassin’s Creed Mirage turned out to be a huge success for Ubisoft’s long-running series, and the biggest seller for the company in this gen.

Ubisoft has made public the enormous success of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The French company reported on social networks that the new installment of the series is the biggest launch to date for them on current generation consoles, a true declaration of intent for a risky bet that surprised a large number of players: returning to the franchise’s roots.

There were not many who expected that after the success of the series with its latest installments with a bigger focus on RPG elements and the open world, returning to the original style was going to happen so soon, and the response could not have been more positive. A significant number of fans wanted to return to the classic gameplay, a much more linear and direct experience that occupies much less time for the players, but knows how to remain intense thanks to its story, setting, and charisma of the characters. The good reception of this decision can mean many things for the future of Assassin’s Creed, with more and more styles to go with, the classic one is gaining popularity again.

Returning to the roots with Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Ubisoft’s decision to leave aside the RPG formula of the latest installments was a surprise for many, as Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla worked very well with the public. The classic gameplay seemed like a step back, but the success of Mirage shows that fans of the series wanted to return to this style of play. In our review, it was highlighted that “Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a return to the past, for better and for worse. The most nostalgic will immerse themselves in an adventure like the old ones, more compact, without so many twists and turns and with a focus more focused on stealth, murders and parkour.”
