ASUS mistakenly leaks the price of the ROG Ally: it would not stray far from the previous model

ASUS’s new Xbox-branded handheld console could be priced similarly to its predecessors.

Since its presentation earlier this summer, the ROG Xbox Ally has generated a lot of speculation, but there was still a big unknown: its price. Now, thanks to a leak in Germany, we may have a clearer idea of how much these consoles that are part of this alliance that seeks to expand the slogan “This is an Xbox,” so promoted by the brand, will cost.

Through ASUS’ own website, a preview revealed the possible prices of the two versions that will reach the market. On the one hand, the ROG Xbox Ally Z2 White would be priced at €599, while the ROG Xbox Ally Z2 Extreme Black would cost €899. Although it is unclear whether these prices are final or simply temporary markers generated by search algorithms such as Google’s, they suggest that the cost will be similar to that of its predecessors, at least in Europe.

As Windows Central notes, the ROG Ally Z1 Extreme is currently priced at €899. Therefore, when converting the leaked price of the Xbox Ally X to dollars, it would be estimated at around $1,050 USD, although other factors could influence the final price to be lower.

Xbox enters the handheld market

Although technically a collaboration -similar to what we recently saw with the Meta Quest 3S-, both the Xbox logo and interface will be key elements in this new ROG Xbox Ally. Unlike its previous versions, this new model will not stand out for its power, but for a modified operating system that will allow Xbox titles to be played natively, remotely or in the cloud.

The ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X are expected to be available later this year, although we are still awaiting official pricing announcements from ASUS and Xbox.
