Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora requires an internet connection to install on your console from the disc
According to the game’s box, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora requires players to be connected to the internet to install the physical version, even though it’s a single-player title.
James Cameron’s fantasy world will not let you visit it without an Internet connection, not even if the physical version is available. This has been confirmed by a Reddit user who received their copy of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora days before the official launch. It is not that it requires a permanent connection, but everything seems to indicate that the game will carry out some type of online verification once the release date has passed.
According to u/Interesting-Squash81′s post, when inserting the disk he’s been met with a splash screen with the title logo and the release date. Although they have tried to implement some tricks such as changing the date on the console, their efforts have been in vain. You may need a patch or perform an online check, but what is clear is that you will have to connect to the network to be able to take control.
VGC reported that in the final art of the physical edition, a notice appears that officially confirms it: “Internet required to install the game”. Apparently, this message was not on the box art during the pre-order campaign.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is not a continuation of James Cameron’s films, but a completely new adventure, which uses never before seen characters within this cinematic universe. The protagonist is a Na’vi oppressed by the RDA, a military organization with very bad intentions. After freeing themselves from their chains, they decide to help their tribe and fight against those who want to destroy Pandora.
The game, developed by the creators of The Division 2 and Star Wars Outlaws, will go on sale next December 7 for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
