Avengers 5: who are the 60 heroes set to appear in the upcoming MCU crossover

The next Avengers movie plans to bring at least 60 MCU characters together on the big screen, but who exactly is set to return?

Marvel Studios is currently in the middle of a transitional period that has resulted in a slower, less release-heavy schedule for the coming years. But even while this year we’re only getting Deadpool & Wolverine’, the house of ideas is already looking towards the future, with plans to make their biggest crossover yet with the fifth Avengers film.

While no details about it have been revealed after some controversies regarding former Kang actor Jonathan Majors, the movie lost its already announced title and is now back in the planning phase. But Marvel Studios has assured that they aspire to have over 60 Marvel superheroes sharing the big screen. Not only that, but the role of director is currently being considered for Deadpool director Shawn Levy.

With such a large roster of characters, fans are obviously wondering just which names will make a return in the upcoming superhero group-up. While nothing has been officially revealed yet, we can take a look at what has been happening in the MCU to make a list of every main character that actually has a chance to be part of the next film. What do you think of this list? Certainly, this is only a tip of the iceberg when it comes to the dozens of characters that comprise the MCU. We’re not even counting any of The Eternals, as their fate has been left entirely undecided, as has many other characters that neither fit the “hero” label that has been used to describe this super-crossover, nor do they have major roles in the comics on which the universe is inspired.
