Avengers: Doomsday is one year away as the Russo Brothers share an official countdown

Avengers: Doomsday is a year away from hitting theaters, anticipation is higher than ever, and the Russo brothers know it. After a week of alleged leaks, the possible return of stars, and everything that an event like Avengers: Endgame entails, we are now getting closer and closer, and to that end, its directors have shared a new post on their social media accounts.

Through their Instagram account, the Russos shared a minimalist clip lasting just 10 seconds, showing a countdown displaying the months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds remaining until the arrival of Avengers: Doomsday, all inside a clapperboard bearing the film’s title. The Multiverse Saga is reaching its boiling point, with Robert Downey Jr. returning to the fold—this time as the villainous Victor von Doom.

A long wait, appeased by Spider-Man

While we wait a whole year for the Avengers to reunite, we will have the return of Tom Holland as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Like the movie that will reunite Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the new installment of the wall-crawler is shrouded in secrecy—and, likewise, a supposedly leaked trailer.

Along with Tom Holland, the film will feature John Bernthal (Punisher), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), and Sadie Sink (in a role yet to be confirmed). Directing the film is Destin Daniel Cretton. The film is currently being filmed in Glasgow, Scotland, and will hit theaters (if nothing drastic happens at Marvel Studios) on July 31, 2026.

Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters in exactly one year: on December 18, 2026.
