Avengers vs. Doctor Doom: Here's the New Marvel Day of Doom Mode in Fortnite
Epic Games presents Day of Doom, a new Marvel-themed game mode that comes to Fortnite loaded with all kinds of novelties.
Fortnite’s Marvel season continues full steam ahead, and Epic Games didn’t miss the opportunity to add new themed content with the new patch. Content update 31.20, which was released on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, added a new game mode called Day of Doom.
Fortnite adds new Marvel Heroes vs. Villains game mode
Patch 31.20 arrived in Fortnite on September 17, 2024, and with it came a lot of new content for Epic Games’ popular battle royale. Among this new content is a new game mode called Day of Doom, and as we see in the blog post on the official website, it will only be available until October 4 at 9:00 AM ET. It can be accessed from the “Discover” tab, under the “From Epic” category.
In this new mode, up to 32 players are divided into two teams: Doom’s Henchmen and the Avengers. The villains must search for and find six arcane artifacts scattered throughout the game area, while the heroes must stop them at all costs.
Among other things, this mode features no drop damage and infinite ammunition for all weapons.
If the Doom’s Henchmen obtain all six Arcane Artifacts, the Avengers will not be able to respawn, so victory will be very easy, and it will be enough to eliminate all of the remaining henchmen. The Avengers will need to exhaust the Doom’s Henchmen respawns to win.
The first Minion of Doom to acquire one of the artifacts will become Doom’s Chosen, wearing his armor and possessing his terrifying superpowers, such as the ability to emit arcane energy. If he is eliminated, another henchman will be randomly chosen shortly thereafter to harness his immense power.
This game mode is partially inspired by the Endgame mode from Chapter 1 Season 8 of the game. In this mode, the Avengers team faced off against Thanos and his Chitauri minions. A player could embody Thanos if the Infinity Gems were found and unleash his devastating power on his opponents.

Each of the two teams in the Day of Doom mode has a different arsenal:
Henchmen of Doom weapons
- Sovereign Shotgun (only after the second artifact has been acquired; Mythic-rarity)
- Combat Assault Rifle (Mythic-rarity)
- Shockwave Grenade
- Doctor Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets
- Monarch Pistol (only after the first artifact has been acquired; Mythic-rarity)
As Doom’s henchmen acquire arcane artifacts, their arsenal grows.
Avengers Weapons
Each player on this page will randomly receive a set of equipment based on a Marvel hero:
- Black Panther Loadout: Shuri’s Black Panther Claws, Striker Assault Rifle (Legendary-rarity), Ranger Pistol (Legendary-rarity), Rift-To-Gos (2x), Chug Splashes (4x)
- Captain America Loadout: Captain America’s Shield, Striker Burst Assault Rifle (Legendary-rarity, Super Slap Splashes (5x), Shield Bubble Jr. (3x), Dual Micro SMGs
- Iron Man Loadout: Iron Man’s Combat Kit, Iron Man’s Flight Kit, Stark Industries Energy Rifle (Legendary-rarity), Hyper SMG (Legendary-rarity), Chug Splashes (4x)
- War Machine Loadout: War Machine’s Arsenal, War Machine’s Auto Turret, War Machine’s Hover Jets, Stark Industries Energy Rifle (Legendary-rarity), Chug Splashes (4x)
New Day of Doom Quests in Fortnite
This new game mode brings with it special quests that we can complete to earn XP to level up and advance in this season’s Battle Pass. Below is a picture of all the tasks to be completed.
They are not particularly complex, so playing this mode can be a good way to gain experience while we are entertained enjoying the new features.
