Video Games
Back to the past: Offer of 99,000 free Commodore 64 games in your browser, Atari and Amiga games also available
Video games enthusiasts in the 80s and 90s can relive their youth by playing many of their old favorites once again.

Nostalgia is a powerful emotion. Many of us have fond memories of the ‘good old days’, inevitably a reference to a simpler time in the past with fewer worries. That could be our care-free university days, or endless hours getting up to no good with our friends as children or teenagers.
Most people will fondly recall the time spent running around outside playing this game or that, when it felt as if the sun was always shining. Those of a certain age, meanwhile, might also long for the days when playing video games was their single most important task.
Of course, the video games industry is bigger, more lucrative and more realistic than ever before, although 80s and 90s kids will tell you nothing compares to the heavily-pixelated offerings from their younger days.
Where to get Commodore C64, Amiga and Atari games for free
The good news is that you can now relive your youth thanks to the Internet Archive, where you can find almost 99,000 games for the Commodore C64, more than 13,000 for the Amiga and over 4,700 for the Atari. All for free.
They include renowned favorites such as “Donkey Kong,” “Pac-Man” and other arcade games, popular action games such as “Airborne Ranger,” “Apocalypse Now,” “Choplifter” and “Wings of Fury,” and sports titles including “Ballblazer,” “Summer Games,” “Decathlon,” “Hyper Sports” and “Winter Games”.
Hobby programmers continue to develop new games for the C64, so the mind-boggling selection at your disposal keeps increasing.
According to the Internet Archive, the C64 is listed in the Guinness World Records as “the highest-selling single computer model of all time, with independent estimates placing the number sold between 10 and 17 million units”.
There are plenty out there ready to relive the glory days by dusting down and firing up their old C64, although finding the time to do so might prove troublesome.
