‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ brings Will Smith back to the movies in its first trailer

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are back again for a fourth Bad Boys movie, with the Miami detectives out to clear their former chief’s name and tons of action.

Despite winning the Oscar award for Best Actor in 2022 because of ‘King Richard’, Will Smith’s career did not rebound after winning the statuette, but quite the opposite. His slap to Chris Rock damaged his image so much that since then we have barely seen him on film ( apart from ‘Emancipation’, which was already in production when the incident occurred). That’s why there is so much expectation around ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’, his first project in over two years.

The film is the fourth installment of the ‘Bad Boys’ franchise, which in this sequel reunites Smith with his usual partner, Martin Lawrence, and allows him to have fun again on a shoot, just like he himself has shared on social media.

With a premiere scheduled for June 7, 2024, the ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ synopsis reads: “This Summer, the world’s favorite Bad Boys are back with their iconic mix of edge-of-your seat action and outrageous comedy but this time with a twist: Miami’s finest are now on the run.” From what we know so far, old school cops Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett will return to patrol together to take down the vicious leader of a Miami drug cartel, while also trying to figure out who framed their former chief.

‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ is directed by Adil & Bilall, with a script by Chris Bremner. Jerry Bruckheimer, Will Smith, Chad Oman and Doug Belgrad act as producers, with ;artin Lawrence also being an executive producer on the filmr. The movie stars Smith and Lawrence, alongside Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Nuñez, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Jacob Scipio, Melanie Liburd, Tasha Smith, Tiffany Haddish, and Joe Pantoliano.
