Baldur’s Gate 3 graphical comparison: is it worth it on PS5?
One of the biggest RPGs of this past few months is also coming to PS5, and the first comparisons of Baldur’s Gate on console and PC reveal a lot.
Baldur’s Gate 3 was one of the most anticipated RPGs of the year and possibly will be one of the main favorites to win the title of GOTY 2023 along with Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The game came out last month on PC (Steam) after quite some time in early access and is now available on PS5 today (Xbox users will have to wait just a bit longer). Larian’s game is a colossus that is among the most advanced in the genre and its technical performance is one of the aspects that most concern players, especially the ones on console.
So as expected, we already have the first graphical comparisons of the game between PS5 and PC, like this one courtesy of El Analista de Bits on Youtube. Below we’ll go into more detail about how the game plays on console and whether its worth getting it or not, but first, let’s take a look at the two graphic modes of Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5.
Is Baldur’s Gate on PS5 worth it?
In short: yes, as the YouTuber in question comments, although the performance is not perfect and performance mode aims for 60 FPS, but does not always manage to maintain it, despite the fact that the video highlights that it does not suffer frame drops that are too serious to make the game difficult. As far as graphics settings are concerned, both modes are similar and equate to a setting with medium to high settings on PC.
When is Baldur’s Gate 3 coming out on Xbox Series X|S?
For months, the release date of Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox Series X|S has been a worrying unknown, because Larian was working on solving certain technical unforeseen problems derived from the inclusion of the cooperative split-screen mode in Xbox Series S. But now users of the Microsoft console are in luck, because It will be out much sooner than we thought..
