Batman

Batman to receive his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Batman Day

The event will be attended by DC Comics personalities as well as the Dark Knight himself.

Michael Keaton Batman 89

Batman Day is this Saturday, September 21, and to commemorate the occasion, the Dark Knight will receive the honor of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In a ceremony to be held on the 26th, Batman/Bruce Wayne’s star, which will be number 2,790, will be placed alongside those of Adam West, the first actor to play the Caped Crusader in the television series, and Bob Kane, the character’s co-creator.

The honor will be presented to Jim Lee, current President and CCO of DC Comics, and Anne DePies, Senior Vice President of DC Entertainment. The Caped Crusader will also be there in person to receive the Guinness Award for being the first superhero to have a star on the Hall of Fame, an award he already has for other merits such as being the longest-running comic book publication (since 1938, uninterrupted) and being the comic book character with the most adaptations: starting with Lewis Wilson in the first serial in 1943, through the TV series with Adam West, to the trilogy of ‘The Dark Knight’ with Christian Bale. A series that, as we know, would be extended after being played later by Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson.

The Batman
Full screen

Batman will be part of a privileged class of people who will also receive a star on the popular Hollywood street in 2024: Tim Burton, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Gal Gadot.

The future of Batman in the movies

On the one hand, Batman’s prestige in cinema remains intact after the fantastic ‘The Batman’, directed by Matt Reeves and starring the aforementioned Pattinson, which will have a sequel in addition to the spin-off ‘The Penguincoming soon on MAX. On the other hand, who will play James Gunn’s DC Universe Batman remains to be seen, with actors like Jake Gyllenhaal, Winston Duke and Glen Powell all in the running.
