Battlefield 6 expands its arsenal in Season 2 with new weapons, vehicles, and maps

The update includes tactical mechanics, mountain maps, and a mode inspired by classic Operations.

Update:

DICE has officially revealed details about Season 2 of Battlefield 6 and Battlefield Red Sec. With a three-phase structure, this update not only expands the available arsenal, but also introduces mechanics that completely change the pace of gameplay, focusing on tension and tactical team play.

Phase 1: Between mountains and hallucinogenic gases

The first stage, titled Extreme Measures, will take us to Contaminated, a new map located in the mountains of Germany. Players will face off at an air base surrounded by rocky terrain that will require total coordination between infantry and vehicles.

The most striking feature is the limited-time VL-7 mode, a special gas that causes visual and auditory hallucinations for those within its cloud. To avoid them, users must equip gas masks, adding a layer of risk and reward to navigating the map. In addition, engineers will celebrate the return of the AH-6 Littlebird, the agile helicopter that promises to bring back the aerial chaos that the community loves so much.

Phases 2 and 3: Darkness and Nostalgia for Operations

Starting March 17, the Nightfall phase will replace daylight with absolute stealth. The new Hagental Base map will take us deep into the mountain to an underground structure ideal for ambushes. Here, the use of night vision goggles will be vital, although they will have a weakness: enemy flashlights can blind those who abuse the vision technology.

Finally, Season 2 will culminate with Hunter/Prey on April 14 and the arrival of Operation Auger, a mode inspired by the classic “Operations” of Battlefield 1. This event will connect both new maps in a large-scale attack and defense narrative, where forces must advance from outside the mountain to its deepest levels, closing the season with a total focus on high-intensity infantry combat.

Battlefield 6 Season 2 will begin on February 17.
