‘Beetlejuice 2’ reveals its official title and release date with its first poster
36 years later, Tim Burton’s ‘Beetlejuice’ is getting a sequel that brings back the original cast, and a few fresh faces to deal with Michael Keaton’s ghoul
“The wait is almost over.” This is what the first official poster for the ‘Beetlejuice’ sequel reads. In it, Warner Bros. Pictures has also taken the opportunity to confirm the release date of the film (September 6, 2024) and its official name: ’Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’. A play on words on the way to summon Michael Keaton’s character, which is precisely what we are invited to do.
Selling nostalgia
This sequel is once again directed by Tim Burton, who brings back the cast of the original 1988 film for the occasion. You can therefore count on the return of Winona Ryder as Lydia, Catherine O’Hara as her stepmother, and of course, Michael Keaton as the unforgettable Beetlejuice.
Still, there will be two important additions to the cast. The first will be for the leading role in ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’’, where Burton is betting on giving the reins to Jenna Ortega, whom he has turned into his new muse after working with her and becoming such good friends in ‘Wednesday’, the Netflix series about the Addams family. The other new face that is joining the film is that of Justin Theroux, actor of ‘Mulholland Drive’ and ‘The Leftlovers’ whose role is still unknown.
Little is known about the film (we do not have a synopsis yet), but taking into account how close its release date is and that Clips from the film have begun to leak, its first trailer should be out soon.
