‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ gets its first trailer full of that classic Tim Burton darkness

Michael Keaton returns to one of his biggest roles 36 years later in ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’, and the first trailer show’s he’s still got it

Almost four decades later, the sequel to one of Tim Burton’s greatest movies is coming to the big screen. ‘Beetlejuice 2′ (to abbreviate its real title, ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’) has revealed a first trailer that makes its intentions clear. It will be a new wacky supernatural adventure, but one full of movie stars.

Which actors are returning for ‘Bettlejuice 2′?

Michael Keaton puts on the makeup and wig of the eccentric Beetlejuice again, who together with Monica Bellucci as Delores, will once again bring the humor while still trying to terrify the audience... although Burton’s acid comedy makes it inevitable to burst out laughing. We won’t have to wait long to see its premiere: Warner Bros. hopes to bring it to movie theaters on September 6, 2024.

The cast includes popular faces like Jenna Ortega (Astrid), Winona Ryder (Lydia Deetz), Willem Dafoe (Wolf Jackson), Justin Theroux (Rory), Catherine O’Hara (Delia Deetz), Burn Gorman (Father Damien) and James Fisher, among others.

“Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. ‚” reads the trailer’s official description. “Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.”.

Burton recently recalled what he felt when he saw all the performers in character again on the set: “It was a beautiful moment to see the entire cast together again, but he [Michael Keaton], as if possessed by the demon, simply turned back into him”. The filmmaker maintains a close relationship with Keaton. No matter how many years go by, the two continue to connect wonderfully.
