Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni put an end to their legal battle over harassment: here’s the verdict
The judge presiding over the case involving the two Hollywood stars dismissed 10 of the 13 claims filed against the actor and director by Ryan Reynolds’ wife.
The legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has been one of Hollywood’s biggest soap operas in recent times—spanning just over a year, during which the stars of ‘It Ends with Us’ have been on a real roller coaster of mutual accusations, especially from Blake Lively, who has proven to be outspoken when it comes to pointing the finger at the person responsible for the alleged sexual harassment she suffered during the filming of the movie they both starred in back in 2024. Ultimately, the case ended with an out-of-court settlement after 10 of the 13 lawsuits against the actor and director were dismissed.

Of course, one thing cancels out the other: the romantic drama ‘It Ends with Us’ was a massive hit in the summer of 2024 after grossing over $350 million worldwide. However, the house of cards began to crumble when, in December of that same year, actress Blake Lively sued the actor and director for sexual harassment during the filming of the movie. Finally, after endless back-and-forth, the case was settled out of court, with only 3 of Lively’s 13 allegations against Baldoni being addressed, thereby dismissing any charges of sexual harassment.
In fact, the jury found Justin Baldoni liable only for retaliation, complicity in retaliation, and breach of contract, with both parties reaching a settlement, which was officially announced as follows: “The end product — the movie ‘It Ends With Us’ — is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors — and all survivors — is a goal that we stand behind,” the statement released by both parties reads.
“We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard. We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online,” the statement concludes.

Following the dismissal of Baldoni’s lawsuit against Lively, the actress stated, “The last thing I wanted in my life was a lawsuit, but I brought this case because of the pervasive retaliation I faced, and continue to, for privately and professionally asking for a safe working environment for myself and others. I hope the court’s decision shows others that, as unfathomably painful as it is, you can speak up.”
