Blasphemous 2 announces Mea Culpa, its first DLC: trailer, release date, price…
The incredible Blasphemous 2 is getting its first DLC and a massive free update, titled Mea Culpa.
Blasphemous 2 is one of the most acclaimed Metroidvanias of recent years, and if you thought that the adventure—or the torture—of the Penitent One was over, nothing could be further from the truth, as developer The Game Kitchen has just announced its first DLC: Mea Culpa. This is a generous expansion that will add a new story about the cursed sword the player carried in the original 2019 title.
Both the Mea Culpa DLC (priced at $11.99) and the new free update will arrive on October 31, 2024. This update adds important new features such as a New Game Plus+ mode. Previously unseen areas, new achievements and trophies, brand new enemies, and various improvements that are yet to be revealed.
Blasphemous 2 is available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). In our review, this is what was said about it at the time: “The words that are most repeated in Blasphemous 2 are punishment and penance, but the game is actually a blessing, a miracle (and also one well, not like the one on Cvstodia). The Game Kitchen gives us another wonderful Metrodivania whose artistic and sound section will be as difficult to forget as it is to overcome”.
